EASTER SUNDAY 21 April
Gospel Mark 16:1-7 or John 20:1-9 We come to Easter Sunday’s celebration filled with the memory of the liturgies of the greatest week of the Church’s year - liturgies which have spoken for themselves, as they invited us to relive in faith the great things God has done for us, coming to a great climax in the Easter Vigil - captured in the words of St Paul read during the Vigil, ‘As Christ was raised from the dead by the Father’s glory, we too’ are called ‘to live a new life’. The days after Easter have a remarkable atmosphere. The Church’s mood is not one of exuberant triumph, but one of wonder and calm. Faith must come to terms with the new creation brought into existence by the Paschal Mystery. Teacher Background Image: Pixabay Licence: Free for commercial use No attribution required |

MONDAY WITHIN THE OCTAVE OF EASTER
Read the Sunday Gospel. Use images of the Sea of Galilee as a backdrop for praying this story of the shared breakfast with the Ignatian way of Imaginative Meditation. Enter in to the story and ask yourself: What do I see? What do I hear? How do I feel? What would Jesus say to me if I was in the boat or on the shore? What could I say to Jesus? Video: Breakfast with Jesus for Early Years Start preparing for Friday's Prayer. Go to Interactive Way To Pray In Worship. There are steps to follow to create a simple loom of coloured paper. Prayer with Resurrection Art
Prayer for Easter The Easter Candle is lit from the bright, blazing Easter fire. This new light symbolises Christ, risen from the darkness of death. This is the prayer that the priest prays as he blesses and lights the Easter Candle. Listen to the words of the prayer that the priest prays as he blesses and lights the Easter Candle. Visit the Church or source images of Easter Candles being lit all over the world. Light a candle and pray about being a light for others. ANZAC DAY
God of love and liberty, we bring our thanks this day for the peace and security we enjoy, which was won for us through the courage and devotion of those who gave their lives in time of war. We pray that their labour and sacrifice may not be in vain, but that their spirit may live on in us and in generations to come. That the liberty, truth and justice which they sought to preserve may be seen and known in all the nations upon earth. This we pray in the name of the one who gave his life for the sake of the world, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Pray a Litany of Remembrance for Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. Use this example as a model for writing a Litany with the response “we remember them.” The Australian War Memorial Image by gerard4170: Pixabay Licence: Free for commercial use No attribution required |
