Second Sunday of Easter
Gospel: John 20:19-31
Our Easter celebration has once again come and gone. Participation in the liturgy has probably been a deeply moving and inspiring experience for many. But now life goes on as before, in a world that does not seem to have been changed. Perhaps we shall find the way forward in the faith journey of this Easter season if we reflect upon Jesus’ greeting of ‘Peace’.

SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENNA

Picture
Memorial of St Catherine of Sienna
Saint Catherine of Siena, as a Doctor of the Church, emphasized the importance of learning of God's love for us, learning to love ourselves, and learning to share this love with all those in our lives. This mission of hers reflects the message about Jesus’ new commandment. to go out into the world to do good.
Pray for women in the Church.

Let us pray for peace in our minds and hearts. (Silence)
All: Peace be with us
Let us pray for peace in our homes and families. (Silence)
All: Peace be with us
Let us pray for peace in our classrooms and school community. (Silence)

 SAINT JOSEPH THE WORKER

Picture
St Joseph the Worker
Glorious St. Joseph,
model of all those who are devoted to labour, obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my many sins; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honour to employ and develop,
by means of labour, the gifts received from God;  to work with order, peace, prudence and patience, never surrendering to weariness or difficulties; to work, above all, with purity of intention, and with detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account which I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in success so vital to the work of God.
All for Jesus,
all for Mary,
all after thy example,
O Patriarch Joseph.
Such shall be my motto in life and death.
Amen.

Lectio of Nature
Consider and reflect on these words:
"Everything in nature has a trademark, God's trademark. All bear God's fingerprints." Go for a walk and look for God's trademarks. Use a camera to document evidence of God's fingerprints in examples of nature in the school grounds. Lectio of Nature
What do you see, feel, hear, smell
?
Make a list of things you discover that you have never seen before.
Conclude with prayers of praise.
