Our Lady of Fatima
Praying the Rosary Mary, the Mother of God, has many titles. Tomorrow, the church celebrates Mary under the title of ‘Our Lady of Fatima’. Mary appeared six times to three shepherd children near the town of Fatima in Portugal between May 13 and October 13, 1917. Mary told them that she had been sent by God with a message for every man, woman and child living in the world. This occurred at a time when people were torn apart by war and violence. The Blessed Mother repeatedly emphasised the importance of praying the Rosary for peace in the world. Praying the Rosary Make one decade rosary beads or bring Rosary beads from home that may have a story of belonging to someone significant in a family. Invite students/parents from different cultures to pray the Hail Mary in their language. Create a Living Rosary: a one decade rosary made of students who take their turn to lead the Our Father, the ten Hail Marys and the Glory Be… the rest of the group respond with the second half of the Hail Mary. St John 1 Martyrs Prayer for Christian Martyrs Lord, so great is our love for you That even though we walk in a world where speaking your name can mean certain death, your faithful still speak it and speak it all the louder. Help us work for a world where all may speak their creeds. Pray their prayers without fear of violence.
