21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 13:22-30 Gospel Reflection ‘Will there only be a few saved?’ The response of Jesus is along these lines. The image of ‘two ways’ that can be taken in life is a common one. The ‘narrow door’ of his parable does not imply that salvation is available to only a few; it refers to the conversion called for if his hearers are to accept his teaching, and thus become the people God wants them to be. People from east and west, north and south, will take their places in the kingdom Image Didgeman Pixabay License Free for commercial use No attribution required |

Living Respectfully
God loves those who help the weak become whole How do I recognise when I am being swayed by the judgemental attitude of a group? We pray that we grow in respect for ourselves and those different from us. We pray for your healing for those struggling with the debilitating effects of abuse. We pray that we may be converted from attitudes of racism and superiority that impede our relationships. Image: geralt Pixabay License Free for commercial use No attribution required |

The Passion of St John the Baptist
O God, You raised up St. John the Baptist to prepare a perfect people for Christ. Fill Your people with the joy of possessing His grace, and direct the minds of all the faithful in the way of peace and salvation. Grant that as St. John was martyred for truth and justice, so we may energetically profess our Faith in You, and lead other to the Way, the Truth and Eternal Life. Amen. Father’s Day
Write and pray prayers of intercession and blessing for fathers, step fathers, grandfathers and other significant men. Use liturgical prayers of intercession and a blessing for Father’s Day as a model. Father's Day Nooma Rain Rob Bell tells the story of being caught in torrential rain with his baby son. The baby begins to cry out and is comforted by the way his father holds him tightly against his heart and whispers gently to him “I love you.” He talks about the storms of life that we encounter and how God will respond to us if we cry out. God is always there to hold us, to encircle us with love and to protect us. A beautiful reflection for Father’s Day.
