Ways to Pray at Home for Easter

As Lent draws to a close, Holy Week begins, leading us into the Easter season – the high point of our liturgical year. Everything flows from it and leads back to it.
Lenten Resources

On April 12 we come to Easter Sunday’s celebration filled with the memory of the liturgies of the greatest week of the Church’s year - liturgies which have spoken for themselves, as they invited us to relive in faith the great things God has done for us, coming to a great climax in the Easter Vigil - captured in the words of St Paul read during the Vigil, ‘As Christ was raised from the dead by the Father’s glory, we too’ are called ‘to live a new life’.

Fifth Sunday of Lent
Gospel:  John11:1-45
Our Lenten journey is drawing to a close; today’s readings remind us of what lies ahead, with Ezekiel’s vision of new life for a valley of bones and Paul’s promise that the Spirit that will ‘give life to our mortal bodies’. The gospel reading from John tells the story of the raising of Lazarus. This sequence - carefully crafted as a prelude to the passion narrative – prepares us for what is to come; Jesus confronts death itself and emerges victorious.
I am the resurrection and the life

Parents and Carers
Let's spend some time praying together and then individually for our parents and carers.
O Almighty God, you gave us the commandment to honour our father and mother. In your loving kindness hear my prayer for my parents. Give them long lives and keep them well in body and spirit. Bless their labours; keep them always in your care. Bless them generously for their loving care for me. Grant that, through your grace, I may always be their support and comfort, and that, after our life together on earth, we may experience the joy together praising you forever.  Amen

World Autism Awareness Day
Today we’re celebrating everyone that makes up our wonderful autism community!  From the incredible individuals on the spectrum, to the families and friends who love them, the educators, employers, medical and health professionals who support them.
Think of those friends with Autism and why they’re so special to you.  It’s an opportunity to recognise and celebrate them and the positive impact they’ve had in your life.

Holy Week and Palm Sunday
On Palm Sunday, we celebrate the first joy of the season, as we celebrate Our Lord's triumphant entrance into Jerusalem where he was welcomed by crowds worshiping him and laying down palm leaves before him. It also marks the beginning of Holy Week, with the greatest tragedy and sorrow of the year.
