Body and Blood of Christ
John 6:51-58
‘Do this in memory of me’. Many of the great things of life are kept alive through the ‘remembering’ of cherished traditions
Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life

Eucharist Mystery
This gospel, in its emphatic rejection of the murmuring of those who do not accept the teaching of Jesus, certainly upholds the challenging truth of the Eucharist in what has been the Church’s faith since the beginning. The repeated reference to ‘eating and drinking’ clearly echoes the eucharistic practice of the apostolic Church.
Dear Lord, I thank You for giving us life! We gather to have life and have it more abundantly in You as we partake in the Eucharist, Amen.
John 6:53-57

Praying for the Sacrament of Communion
First Eucharist is a special occasion - a further step in becoming one with Christ and united with the People of God.  Let's pray for those receiving this sacrament for the first time.
May your Eucharist presence keep them
ever free from sin, fortified in faith,
pervaded by love for God and neighbour throughout their life. Amen

Praying Dadirri
  • Experience a Dadirri time of deep listening, inner quiet, still awareness, and waiting.
  • Go outside and simply sit and look at and listen to the earth and surrounding environment Focus on something specific a blade of grass, a clump of soil, cracked earth, a flower, a bush or leaf, a cloud in the sky, the feel of the breeze, the sound of a bird or the branches of a tree. Be still and silent and listen. Respond to this experience by journaling, writing poetry, drawing, painting or singing a prayer.

Praying with a Finger Labyrinth
  • Download a labyrinth template. Trace with a coloured pencil or with your index finger.
Suggested Script:
  • Look carefully at the pattern of the labyrinth.
  • Slow down your breathing and still your body and your mind.
  • Begin at the entrance to the Labyrinth and trace the path into the centre with your finger or pencil. Trace the path very slowly......
  • When you get to the centre, rest there and ask God to bless you and be with you in all you do and say. Breathe and spend some time in silent prayer.
  • Make the journey out breathing in and out slowly.
  • Be aware of God’s love and how God is calling you to be a person of truth or love or peace.
  • When you have completed the journey out from the centre, give thanks to God and ask God for help.
  • Place your hands gently on the labyrinth and rest with your eyes closed.
