Feast of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Create a Mary prayer composed of only a few words, such as 'Mary, Mother of us all, give me strength' (or wisdom, patience, generosity — whatever spiritual gift you need at this time.) Use different titles for Mary e.g. Gentle Woman, Woman of Faith, Star of the Sea.

The People Cross
Light votive candles. Invite students to think about and write the name of a friend or family member they wish to pray for, on a piece of paper or card. Lead them to place the names on the floor or wall in the shape of a large cross. The group then stands in a circle around the cross and prays silently a prayer of intercession for the person they named. Conclude this prayer with an Amen response.
