15-21 SEPTEMBER ORDINARY TIME October World Mission Month Catholic Mission invites school to pray next month in October: Each school day is dedicated to a different continent where missionary activity occurs. Each decade of the World Mission Rosary calls to mind an area where the Church continues her evangelising mission. The colours on each set of rosary beads represent the following: Green: for the forests and grasslands of AFRICA; Blue: for the ocean surrounding the islands of the OCEANIA; White: symbolising EUROPE, the seat of the Holy Father, shepherd of the world; Red: calling to mind the fire of faith that brought missionaries to the AMERICAs; Yellow: the morning light of the East, for ASIA. Each decade, or continent and colour, has been allocated to a specific day, or days in October. The full list is Monday is Red, Tuesday is Green, Wednesday is White, Thursday is Blue and Friday is Yellow. Schools are invited to claim a day, or days, when your school – as separate classes, year levels or as an entire community – will join us in saying the Rosary during this year’s Extraordinary Month of Mission, as declared by Pope Francis. To order World Mission Rosary Beads, which cost $1 each, please contact the Brisbane office of Catholic Mission on (07) 3324 3423 or email brisbane.admin@catholicmission.org.au Calendar |

Prayer for Consideration of All
Dear Jesus, we pray with you to the Heavenly Father for all the men and women and children of the world, those who live with their families and those who do not. Make us kind and generous to one another and protect us with your loving care. Mary, our Mother and good St. Joseph, keep us close to Jesus so that we too will be a holy family. Amen. https://www.catholic.org/prayers/prayer.php?p=1920 Image: "Care" by Barbro Andersen is licensed under CC BY 2.0 |
