26th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Matthew 21: 28-32
Jesus said: What do you think?
Reflect on some ways that you say YES to having God in your life.
Are any of these ways PRACTICAL expressions of your faith in Christ?
How do you walk the talk?

The Holy Guardian Angels
The angels are messengers from God, who guards us and cares for us constantly.
Reflect:
Who are your Guardian Angels?
In what ways does God watch over you?
How do you know that God is near?

Angel Template
Use the Angel template to write your reflections on, or you might like to make a Angel garland. Decorate your classroom or prayer space with your Guardian Angels to watch over you.
Pray: Let us pray that we will be aware of God's nearness to us in our daily lives. (pause)
O God, our protector,
in your loving care for us
guard us from every danger.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Tomorrow is the feast of St Francis of Assisi.
Today, reflect on the significance of why our current Pope chose to be named Francis.
At his first audience on 16 March 2013, Francis (Jorge Mario Bergoglio) told journalists that he had chosen the name in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, and had done so because he was especially concerned for the well-being of the poor. He explained that, the Brazilian Cardinal Cláudio Hummes had said, "Don't forget the poor". The Pope had previously expressed his admiration for St. Francis, explaining that "He brought to Christianity an idea of poverty against the luxury, pride, vanity of the civil and ecclesiastical powers of the time. He changed history."
What do you think Pope Francis might stand for?
What are his intentions?
How have his actions made these intentions clear?

Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi
Today marks the feast of St Francis of Assisi. St Francis has inspired many followers throughout history, including the current Pope.
Listen: Who was St Francis?
Reflect:
St Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals, merchants and ecology. What lessons can we take from St Francis to help us live our lives today?
Pray:
Prayer of St Francis of Assisi
Saint Francis of Assisi embraced poverty so that he could follow the crucified Christ more fully.
Let us pray for simplicity of life.
(pause)
O God, you bless the poor in spirit.
May we be detached from material things.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Pope Francis
If you could ask Pope Francis one question, what would it be?
Some students have BIG questions. Some are fun. Some are serious. And some will quietly break your heart. In Dear Pope Francis, the Pope’s first book for children, he personally responds to 30 questions from children all over the world. With his optimistic heart, Pope Francis writes with an honesty that will impact every reader long after the final page is turned. Illuminating and inspiring, Dear Pope Francis is a lasting book with a universal message for children and adults.
