27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Matthew 21: 33-43
In this parable, the landowner is God, the vineyard represents Israel, and the tenants are the religious Jewish leadership.
What Jesus is saying is that God had sent the prophets to Jerusalem, but they were mistreated and even killed. But now God had sent Jesus hoping that He'd demand the respect that was not given to the prophets.
The kingdom of heaven will be given to a people who will produce its fruit

Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi
4 October marks the feast of St Francis of Assisi. St Francis has inspired many followers throughout history, including the current Pope.
Listen: Who was St Francis?
Reflect:
St Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals, merchants and ecology. What lessons can we take from St Francis to help us live our lives today?
Pray:
Prayer of St Francis of Assisi
Saint Francis of Assisi embraced poverty so that he could follow the crucified Christ more fully.
Let us pray for simplicity of life.
(pause)
O God, you bless the poor in spirit.
May we be detached from material things.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Pray:
Lord God, you called Saint Bruno to serve you in a life of solitude. Amidst this world's changes help us, by his prayers, to set our hearts always on you. Through our Lord...

Our Lady of the Rosary
Pius V instituted "Our Lady of Victory" as an annual feast to commemorate the victory at Lepanto, which he attributed to the Blessed Virgin Mary. ... In 1573, Pope Gregory XIII changed the title of the "Feast of Our Lady of Victory" to "Feast of the Holy Rosary", to be celebrated on the first Sunday of October.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God,
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Grant, we beseech Thee, O Lord God, that we Thy Servants may enjoy perpetual health of mind and body and by the glorious intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, be delivered from present sorrow and enjoy eternal happiness. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

The Holy Guardian Angels
The angels are messengers from God, who guard us and cares for us constantly.
Reflect:
Who are your Guardian Angels?
In what ways does God watch over you?
How do you know that God is near?
Angel Template
Use the Angel template to write your reflections on, or you might like to make a Angel garland. Decorate your classroom or prayer space with your Guardian Angels to watch over you.
Pray: Let us pray that we will be aware of God's nearness to us in our daily lives. (pause)
O God, our protector,
in your loving care for us
guard us from every danger.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen
