Centering Prayer
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God's presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. Try this different way of praying. There are many apps that can help guide you. Centering Prayer is a good one! Easy Steps for a Centering Prayer. |

St Ignatius of Antioch
St Ignatius of Antioch, a bishop in the first century, saw himself as a 'God-bearer'. Let us pray we will learn from his faith in the risen Christ. (pause) Faithful God, with Saint Ignatius, May we be shining God-bearers united in spirit with Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Today also marks the 7th anniversary of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop's Canonisation in 2010. |

St Luke
Today we celebrate Saint Luke, a disciple of Paul and one of the Gospel writers. Listen Reflect: The Roman Catholic Church and other major denominations venerate him as Saint Luke the Evangelist and as a patron saint of artists, physicians, surgeons, students and butchers! Pray: Let us pray that the good news of Christ will draw all people to the love of God. (pause) O God, in your compassion, embrace all women and men, the rich and the poor, the great and the small. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. |

St Paul of the Cross
In 1720, Paul dedicated his life to God and began to experience visions, in the last of which the Virgin Mary appeared to him. He was inspired by this vision to found a congregation devoted to the suffering of Christ on the cross. Listen Reflect and Pray: Use the guided meditation, found here, or, if possible, go down to the Church and participate in a meditative walk on the Stations of the Cross, guided by the reflections of St Paul of the Cross. |
