29th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Luke 18:1-8 Gospel Reflection A very typical human situation: a corrupt judge, pestered by a persistent widow, finally gives in to her, not because he is won over to acting justly, but because she is going to ‘worry him to death’. We see an unfamiliar side of Jesus is in this parable; he is not long faced - he can speak of human foibles with an ironical humour. The story was all too common in the world that Jesus knew. Will not God see justice done? Teachers Background |

St John of Capistrano
Today we celebrate the Feast of St John Capistrano. Creator, Open yet more our hearts to the needs of all our brothers and sisters, so that we may be better able to build a true peace. Remember, Father of mercy, all who are in pain, who suffer and die in the cause of a more brotherly world. For the men of every race, of every tongue - may your kingdom come: your kingdom of justice, of peace, of love; and may the earth be filled with your glory. Amen.
