31st Sunday in Ordinary Time
MARK 12:28-34 In the Gospel, Jesus reminds us ‘You must love your neighbour as yourself.’ There’s an implicit idea here that is vital. Before you can love your neighbour, you must first love yourself. What this means is a genuine love of self – an acceptance; a respect; a true valuing of self. Only then can we know how to treat others. When think how we would want to be treated it directs us to how we should treat others. Let us send a heartfelt blessing to those we meet today that they will know their true selves and love that person. Gospel Reflection Image By E Fort. Used with permission. |

Mindful Listening
Why not start the week with some mindful listening? Read about Dadirri here. Focus on something specific, such as a bird, a blade of grass, a clump of soil, cracked earth, a flower, bush or leaf, a cloud in the sky, whatever you can see. Or just let something find you be it a leaf, the sound of a bird, the feel of the breeze, the light on a tree trunk. No need to try. Just wait a while and let something find you, let it spend time with you. Just relax and be there, enjoying the time. Simply be aware of your focus, allowing yourself to be still and silent…, to listen… Image By E Fort. Used with permission. |

Taking the Psalm from today's Mass
Ps 26:1. 4. 13-14. R. v.1 (Jerusalem Bible) This is the psalm for today's mass. Why not take a phrase that speaks to you and repeat this phrase as you draw an image that comes to mind. Response (R): The Lord is my light and my salvation. 1. The Lord is my light and my help; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; before whom shall I shrink? (R.) 2. There is one thing I ask of the Lord, for this I long, to live in the house of the Lord, all the days of my life, to savour the sweetness of the Lord, to behold his temple. (R.) 3. I am sure I shall see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. Hope in him, hold firm and take heart. Hope in the Lord! (R.) Image By E Fort. Used with permission. |

Walking as Prayer
Mindful walking can open our minds to a restful state where we can communicate with God or rest in God's presence. Try a slow and mindful walk around part of your school that contains some natural elements. Walk quietly and pause to notice small details on trees and plants as you journey. On completing your walk, say a prayer of thanks to God for your favourite part of nature. Image By C. Rodden. Used with permission. |

Message from Today's Gospel Reading
The Gospel reading today tells of people and things that are lost and then found. One of the messages that we might take from this Gospel is that everyone counts. Each is important and is to be celebrated. Why not give a blessing to each other as a reminder that everyone is important. May you grow strong in God's love and care. May you wake each day with a voice of blessing in your heart. Image By E Fort. Used with permission. |

THE DEDICATION OF THE LATERAN BASILICA
The Basilica of John Lateran in Rome, is not just any building, it is the first official ‘home’ for the Church in Rome after Christianity was declared a legal religion. We remember today that we are the living stones that make up the Church. What can we do to spread the love and peace of the church in our actions today? One way is to spend time in prayer for the needs of others and our world. A class Litany would be one way to pray. Start with a verse like this one and then build on the litany with other intentions. Litany Guide the people of the world in the ways of justice and peace; that we may love one another and serve the common good. All: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Image by Michael Foley.
