Praying with the Gospel: Lectio Divina.
Pray with this short passage from the Gospel using the 5 steps of Lectio Divina. Jesus said ‘Do not worry and ask yourselves, “Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have any clothes to wear?” Only people who don’t know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father in heaven knows that you need all of these. But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well. Do not worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today" |

Scripture to reflect on during this time in Lent
Matthew 6:1, 16-25 Jesus said to his disciples: "Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father…. …. I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Reflection Students to sit quietly and think about these words from the gospel OR discuss its meaning as a class. |
