St Joseph
Joseph the Refugee I am Joseph, and I am a Refugee. Prayer 1.Just as Joseph had to flee to Egypt, we pray for all those families who have become refugees or asylum seekers as a result of war, persecutions or natural disaster. May they find compassion, safety and security. ALL: God of Refugees, hear our prayer and may it bring hope. 2. We pray for all parents, who naturally worry about the welfare of their children. May they find support, companionship and wisdom from people who are Joseph-like. ALL: God of Parents, hear our prayer and may it bring peace of mind. 3.We pray for all parents, who naturally worry about the welfare of their children. May they find support, companionship and wisdom from people who are Joseph-like. ALL: God of Parents, hear our prayer and may it bring peace of mind. Solemnity of St Joseph

Tomorrow is Harmony Day. Let's get ready
This can be done as a lead up for March 21. RACISM - NO WAY! Our diversity makes Australia a great place to live. Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. Held every year on 21 March, the Day aims to engage people to participate in their community, respect cultural and religious diversity and foster sense of belonging for everyone. Prayer You created all people in your image. We thank you for the astonishing variety of races and cultures in Australia and in our community. Enrich our lives by ever-widening circles of friendship, and show us your presence in those who differ most from us. Grant that we may always promote the justice and acceptance that ensures lasting peace and racial harmony. Grant that we may show equal respect to all persons of different cultures that we may come across. And help us to remember and appreciate that we are one country, with many stories. Mary of the Cross, pray for us Amen. |

United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination & Harmony Day
This is in conjunction with Harmony Day 2018 Theme: Promoting tolerance, inclusion, unity and respect for diversity in the context of combating racial discrimination. Gospel Reading: Mt. 22: 34-40 and Luke 10 : 25-27"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with your entire mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it; you shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two great commandments." Prayer: Good and gracious God, you invite us to recognize and reverence your divine image and likeness in our neighbor. Enable us to see the reality of racism and free us to challenge and uproot it from our society, our world and ourselves. This we pray: AMEN |
