The Annunciation of the Lord
Some Background The Annunciation is a day of celebration for Christians throughout the world. Many religions including the Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church, the Greek Orthodox religion, and others hold the Annunciation as a very important day of religious life. This day reminds all Christians of the time when the Virgin Mary was asked by the Lord to bring into the world a Savior who would be named Jesus. Project Compassion Week 4
Hear Michaela's Story. Michaela is a 21-year-old trainee at Purple House, a dialysis center in the Central Desert for people suffering from kidney disease. With the support of Caritas partners, Michaela is helping to build a social enterprise, a connection to culture and a new outlook for the chronically ill. Project Compassion Prayer for 2019 Creator God You are our constant hope! In the season of Lent, you call us to prayer, fasting and love of those most marginalised. As a community of faith and courage, let our gifts to Project Compassion be symbols of hope and solidarity with our one human family. Accompany us as we journey with Jesus to bring ‘good news’ to all creation and ready our hearts to work for the common good of all your people. We ask this in Jesus’ name… Amen Image: Used with permission Copyright 2019 Caritas Australia |

Seven Corporal Works of Mercy
In Lent it is good to be reminded of the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy. Discuss the practical ways that some of these works of mercy can be lived out . What are some works of mercy will you commit to during this time of Lent? Each person can write this commitment on a piece of coloured paper. This can be collected and placed in a container on the prayer table during Lent. It would be good to revisit this commitment at the start of next term.
